00 — Design & building philosophy
- 01
Lead with user insights and business acumen
Answer what to build and why before “how to design and build”.
- 02
Ship to learn, not to finish
Find the root problem → Make hypotheses → Ship to real customers → Learn.
- 03
Fight hard for the ground truth
Stay intellectually honest. Keep asking why until we hit the ground truth — then let go fast when we’re wrong.
- 04
Speed is the quality
Moving faster forces clearer thinking. Slow iteration leads to delayed learning, not deeper craft.
- 05
User trust is the product
Visual, interaction, and motion craft aren’t aesthetic luxuries — they are signals of legitimacy.
01 — About
A technologist who designs — and a designer who also ships code.
I'm a product design leader with 16 years of experience delivering measurable design, product, and business impact across consumer fintech, digital advertising, developer platforms, SMB, and enterprise SaaS.
I've spent eight of those years building, coaching, and developing high-performing multidisciplinary design teams — and the rest as an individual contributor who still loves to design and code. My foundation is technical: a PhD in Computer Science focused on Human–Computer Interaction, with 13 peer-reviewed publications.
Lately I'm back in build mode — blending design, product, and code with AI tools to take new ideas from zero to one.
“The first principle is that you must not fool yourself — and you are the easiest person to fool.”
On the name
“Tao” (道) is the Chinese principle for the way — the natural order underlying everything, and the practice of moving in harmony with it.
